The OP-1 is a very interesting and unusual little piece of gear. Since nothing is as it seems, you really have no choice but to think outside the box. I find it quite refreshing for the most part. It’s almost liberating in a way as it breaks the chains of standard track arrangement protocol. But it is also frustrating at times because the way to get something done is not always apparent. Genius little piece of machinery though. The more I use it, the more I feel that my first impression was spot on: what would happen if Apple engineers and Scandinavian designers teamed up and made a sampling, multi-synth- and drum-machine-laden groove box, that was exclusively sold by a high-end boutique gear shop produced by IKEA? The OP-1.

And that’s all I have to say about that.
